Introducing Wavezero

With Wavezero being recently publicly launched, I wanted to share more about who we are, what services we will provide, and the why behind everything we do.

The journey to Wavezero

One of my closest friends, Lauren Georg, facilitated my entry into the climate space. In high school, she introduced me to books and documentaries on climate change, veganism and environmental sustainability. There was much I was unaware of and desperately needed to learn!

While at university, I studied abroad at Bocconi for a year, where my theoretical understanding of climate change expanded through courses such as climate change economics, sustainable supply chains and sustainability strategy. The next step was putting the theory into practice.

When I first reached out to them, Emitwise told me they weren’t hiring. Naturally, I continued calling and emailing them, which eventually landed me a six-month internship. This turned into three and a half years of working in sales, customer success and internal sustainability roles at the company.

While at Emitwise, I learned much about decarbonisation, corporate climate action, and carbon accounting. Alongside my work, I started blogging about the environmental impact of various industries and the decarbonisation levers available to them.

Given the nature of start-ups, you end up wearing many hats. One of them for me was supporting the marketing team with content, writing articles on topics such as Net Zero, environmental reporting and carbon management. With this writing came an idea.

Creating Wavezero

Moving away from Emitwise was an incredibly tough decision. It meant leaving a company whose mission deeply resonated with me, one in which I had personally grown a lot and through which I had made many friends throughout the years.

Ultimately, I decided to pursue my idea of building Wavezero. The company would provide expert copywriting services to companies in the environmental sector, aiming to amplify their voice and grow their impact.

Given the urgency of the climate crisis, I currently don’t see myself working in any other sector. Paired with my writing interests, launching Wavezero seemed like a perfect opportunity to continue learning about climate change and educating audiences about the topic.

Building the website from scratch and collecting feedback from friends and family throughout the process was an exciting first step. I have Eduardo Gomez to thank for his expertise and creativity as he developed the Wavezero branding and logo.

With the public launch on LinkedIn came a lot of energy, encouraging messages and opportunities to start collaborating with leaders in the climate space. Now, it’s time to start writing some articles and help companies scale their impact.

The mission

Wavezero’s mission is to create waves of climate action. This means supporting the growth of companies driving positive environmental impact by being an expert partner to amplify their voice and messaging.

Climate change, decarbonisation, and carbon management are incredibly complex topics. Ensuring that all stakeholders are familiar with these topics and their urgency will ensure that individuals and companies can be in a position to drive change.

Reaching Net Zero targets will require accelerating climate change mitigation efforts to unprecedented levels over the coming decades. That is why we intend to work with companies in various sectors within the climate space.

Companies tackling climate change are extremely busy developing technologies, scaling operations, and managing customer relationships. Working with Wavezero means having a partner to rely on to extend the reach of their impact and drive their growth.

Wavezero’s mission to create waves of climate action will be reflected in our internal practices and influence our decision-making, from choosing the companies we work with to determining the most impactful services we can provide.

Services provided

Wavezero provides copywriting services to companies, creating written content for their websites, blogs and social media accounts. We will research the topic you are addressing, write the pieces you are after, and collaborate with you on any edits required.

The written content can be blog posts to demonstrate expertise to your stakeholders, thought pieces to reflect your company’s views or climate explainers to ensure your audiences can understand the intricacies of the impact you are driving.

We have written over 50 articles on decarbonisation, carbon accounting and other environmental sustainability topics. Through our pieces, we will aim to educate audiences on the topics you are addressing and showcase your company’s expertise through convincing messaging.

Regarding pricing, we charge our clients per word to ensure transparency and so that you know exactly what you are paying for. We also offer subscriptions for recurring clients, providing you with a monthly package of articles and content. We’re excited to hear about your company’s needs!

You can contact Wavezero by email (pierre-louis@wavezero.co.uk), via LinkedIn or the website to learn more and explore how we could collaborate. I look forward to hearing from you and working with companies bringing solutions to the climate crisis.
